Lesson 1 of 4 · 2 min read
Meeting your inner critic
Most people carry a harsh inner voice. Noticing it is the first step towards loosening its grip.
That critical voice can sound like 'you should have known better' or 'everyone else manages fine'. It often believes it is helping — pushing you to do better or avoid embarrassment.
In reality, constant self-criticism tends to drain energy and make it harder to try again. Most people perform and recover better with encouragement than with threats.
Start by simply noticing the tone. Would you use those exact words with a friend in the same situation? If not, that gap is worth paying attention to.
Reflection
Write down one sentence your inner critic says often. Read it back and notice how it feels.
Kept on this device only. Nothing you write is sent anywhere.
